Frequently Asked Questions

How does Extract & Discard work?: DocFort scans your document, extracts key data (expiry dates, document numbers), then immediately discards the photo. We never store your document images.
Is my data stored on your servers?: No. All data stays on your device. DocFort uses Apple's SwiftData for local storage. We have zero access to your information.
How do expiry reminders work?: DocFort uses processing-time intelligence to alert you early enough to renew. For example, passport alerts start 9 months before expiry (6-month validity rule + 3-month processing).
Can I cancel my subscription?: Yes. Go to Settings → Manage Subscription, or manage it directly in your Apple ID settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period.
Does DocFort work offline?: Yes, completely. DocFort stores all data on-device using SwiftData. iCloud Sync is an optional feature that uses Apple's end-to-end encryption.

DocFort is built on a simple privacy principle: your documents are yours alone.

No image storage. Document photos are processed on-device and immediately discarded. Only extracted text metadata is stored locally.

No cloud transmission. Your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Sync (end-to-end encrypted by Apple).

No analytics or tracking. We do not collect usage data, analytics, crash reports, or any personal information.

No third-party SDKs. DocFort uses only Apple-native frameworks. No Firebase, no Amplitude, no third-party code.

Biometric protection. Face ID / Touch ID is processed entirely by Apple's Secure Enclave. DocFort never accesses your biometric data.

Secure sharing. Shared links use SHA-256 hashed passcodes. Plaintext passcodes are shown once and never stored.

Data we store on your device:

Document titles, categories, expiry dates, extracted field data (text only), renewal tracking preferences, and app settings.

Data we collect: None. Zero.

We cannot see, access, or retrieve any of your information.
